Mornings have been especially productive this past week. A mix of cut ladyfish and artificial lures has been producing steady action with snook, trout, redfish, tarpon, and jacks. Productive artificials include topwater lures, 3–5” paddle tails, and the MirrOlure Lil John, which have all been drawing consistent strikes.

One highlight was stumbling onto a school of jacks blowing up on mullet. I fired a Zara Spook into the frenzy and was instantly hooked into the fight of a lifetime! Keep an eye out for these fast-moving schools—feeding frenzies pop up quickly and move up and down the river in no time.

To round things out, more solid-sized snook are being caught in the backwaters, giving anglers plenty of reason to explore those areas.
