The bigs are chewing. Several big fish caught this week. The most productive baits we threw this week were a Bass Assassin Vapor Shad (Panhandle Moon), Jackhamer 1/2oz Golden Shiner, Black and Blue Boneshaker and a Bass Assassin RSB worm (Redbug).
We fished the Vapor Shad in ditches along hydrilla edges very slow and “dead sticking” worked well. We also threw these in the hydrilla holes with a 1/16 weight and let them fall to the bottom. Both ways caught solid fish.
The chatterbait bite is good in scattered hydrilla and fished as slowly as possible. We fished these baits on the flats east and west of the 45 canal.
The RSB worms worked everywhere we fished. We used light weights and dragged them along the bottom.
If you can find shiners they are crushing them as always.
Good luck and tight lines.
