My client boated an 11lb monster bass this week on a Bass Assassin RSB worm in Gooseberry.
The big girls are chewing this week. The shiner bite is super strong right now. Most of our big fish are in deeper canals lined with grass. Dan Lally has been putting a hurtin’ on the double digits this week. He had one almost 12lbs today and a 10lber yesterday. In the past week, between the 2 of us, we have put 5 DDs in the boat.
The worm bite will remain strong the rest of the spring and summer. Jackhammers in Golden Shiner half ounce are working well, and Concepts half ounce spinnerbaits with gold blades white skirt are the deal. Good quality fish and lots of them.
The Luckycraft Gunfish 115 in Flake Flake gold is my favorite topwater bait right now. I had a 7 and a half pounder yesterday crush it. I’ve been working it kinda quickly back and forth but not reeling it fast (if that makes sense). I’ll throw slack back at the bait so it’s not moving a ton forward and going side to side fairly fast. I’ll shoot a video tomorrow and post it tomorrow evening. I think that will help a lot of you that have been asking me how to work the bait.
Bass Assassin Vapor Shad in Panadle Moon and Watermelon Red weightless fished in the hydrilla with holes has been catching the fish.
Hope you guys have a great week. I love seeing everyone succeed on this great fishery.
Good luck and tight lines.
