Went to turkey creek this afternoon looking for tarpon and they were there for sure! I had one hook up on a Bass Assassin shad 4” and that’s all I could get. Seeing how am new to all of this type of fishing. Where do I start in catching these fish? They were rolling all over the place and I even saw them chasing the smaller fish and leaping right out of the water! Schools of smaller fish were getting chased right up on to the shore a few times as well. Were the tarpon doing that or was some other fish chasing them?
Any insight from the veteran fisherman would be great.

Welcome to Spacefish, and to fishing the lagoon, Raider! One of our contributors, Paul MacInnis, wrote a nice piece about targeting juvenile tarpon in the lagoon a few months ago. Check it out here. As for the bait fish running and jumping, it was probably due at least in part to the tarpon. However, in a boil like this, you can probably expect multiple species in the mix: jack crevalle and ladyfish are commonly among the usual suspects!
