kid fishing

Nothing is more rewarding than a big ole smile on a kids face after catching a fish. Whether a half pound Bluegill or hundred-pound Tarpon, it really doesn’t matter to them. I have been fortunate over the years to take part in days such as these. The most recent, this past week’s trip introducing a couple youngsters to inshore fishing. We were fortunate enough to end up with a very nice upper slot Redfish and a multitude of various size Seatrout all on artificial. You usually must keep it simple when they’re first starting out, so nothing beats a couple dozen live shrimp when needed and I try to keep the trips a litter shorter as boredom tends to set in quickly if the fish don’t cooperate. Still, when it all comes together nothing beats those smiles.

The future of fishing and the outdoors depend on us to keep the traditions going so pass it on with every opportunity you can.
