Offshore was too rough for us on Saturday, so my wife, niece, and I decided to try and catch some of the famed Sebastian Inlet Flounder. We tried 4 different spots West of the bridge, 2 on the North side and 2 on the South Side. We used a mix of Shrimp (hooked in several different presentations) and mud minnows. Unfortunately, we did not have any luck on Flounder.

We were mostly fishing an outgoing tide and this might not have been in our favor. Of course, as always, we had a lot of fun just being out there!

We did not bring in many other fish. I suspect that this was because I had us rigged up with short leaders, as my online research indicated that this was best for keeping the bait closer to the bottom for Founder. I did catch a nice 15 inch Sheepshead, which my wife cooked that night. Delicious!

We had a nice day on the water. It was a little crowded in the inlet but aside from on guy who thought he owned it, I felt like everybody out there was doing there best to share space and not disturb fish when changing spots. Most boats seemed to stay out of the center channel, to let those who wanted to drift fish, do so. I saw one family bring in a nice sized Pompano fishing from the banks, and then saw them get raided by a tricky raccoon. I saw an angler retrieve a float away plastic bag from 30 years with a bull’s eye cast that he nonchalantly landed on the first try 🙂 Pro!

Always great to be fishing on the Space Coast!!
