Our snook bite has been strong again this past week along the Space Coast. We’re getting good numbers of slot and over-slot fish. The best live baits are big shrimp, croakers and menhaden fished near residential docks, spoil islands, and mangrove covered shorelines. The rock jetties at the inlets are holding good schools of snook as well. Tripletail are another species that has been consistent over the past week.
We’ve had decent amounts of sargasso weed along the coast and the tripletail have been riding the tides right along with it. Live shrimp free-lined on a 2/0 VMC circle hook around grass clumps will entice them to bite.
