mosquito lagoon seatrout

The bite continues to be strong throughout the New Smyrna Beach back waters and Mosquito Lagoon. We have been boating several different species from snook , black drum, trout and redfish just to mention a few. They have been eating in the mornings and then picking back up in the early evenings as the water temps are cooler at these times. They are still holding to the summer time pattern , look for the bait in the shallows early then moving to the deeper edges of the flats as the sun continues to get higher. Plugs, spoons and soft plastics have been working but live bait has definitely been a little more receptive.

The weather looks to be good for the rest of the week with clear in the mornings and afternoon showers toward the evenings.
