Here is a few tips for this week on Headwaters and Stick Marsh. If the water is running over on Stick Marsh get over there and fish. You’ll be tired of catching them by noon. Throw silver/black traps, jerkbait, hybrid hunter cranks (chrome blue for me) and white spinnerbaits.

Now, for the report on Headwaters. We did well this week on topwater using spooks or gunfish in bone and shiner for the gunfish. Up north in the hydrilla speedworms (Gooseberry and Junebug) with a very small weight or weightless did the trick for us. Golden shiner jackhammer with a Hogfarmer spunk Shad was our best chatterbait style bait. Mike Bucca Bullglides did most of our big fish big bait work this week (9.6lbs). My new Dobyns Rods swimbait rods are awesome. If you’re looking for a great swimbait rod look no further than Dobyns. If the bite is tough punch hydrilla in or around deep water with an ounce and a half weight and a black and blue Bass Assassin Skunk Ape (Blueberry and St John’s Special colors). My good buddy Luke Canada punched up a 6lber and a 9lber using this method. If the bite is tough, go punching!
