The 1st Annual Pompano Surf Fishing Derby presented by Pompano Riggs by Couture was a huge success!

I wish I had a good report for you guys looking to do some surf fishing, but it seems as though the Pompano beach run has come to a halt. We may have a few stragglers come out through the inlets and onto the beaches, but most fish are down in Juno or north of NSB. Meanwhile, reports of sea grass, wind, and waves are on tap for the coming week. Anglers on Brevard beaches are primarily catching catfish, whiting, croakers. While there’s still an occasional keeper Pompano caught, it’s mostly shorts out there. If you are hungry for some fresh caught pompano from the surf, my advice is to take a day cation and head north or south down the coast a ways to find some gold to reel in.

I do have good news, too, though. The 1st Annual Pompano Surf Fishing Derby presented by Pompano Riggs by Couture hosted by Strike Zone was a great success! With the help of the community we were able to raise $2,000 for the Goode family! We had some nice fish weighed-in and it was a blast handing out trophies and cash to the winners! We look forward to doing this again next year and making it even bigger and better! We also look forward to helping out another family in need and coming together as a community for a great cause! Again, congratulations to all winners and participants! We’ll see you on the beach!
