Spring break is in full effect here on the Space Coast, and the families have come out of the woodwork to go catch fish with me over the last two weeks. It’s been really good for snook, black drum, whiting and sheepshead around the jetties at Sebastian and Canaveral. If you get a chance to fish the beach, you will probably find much of the same because these fish are cruising the troughs during the mid to late incoming tides this week. Snook at Sebastian Inlet and Canaveral were a little bit better the last couple of days now that the water is pushing close to 70°. Shrimp, croakers and pinfish seem to be the top three baits for the snook right now. Black drum are still scattered around the jetties at both of these places as well.
Cobia have been hit or miss. I haven’t actually gone and looked for them yet but everybody that I’ve talked to says that if they do see a ray it’s not staying up long enough for them to really get on it. The best cobia pattern I’ve heard of in the last three or four days is to look for them following turtles that seems to be where most of the keeper sized fish have been coming from. So if you’re looking for a chance to catch any of these species, you can go to my website- finelinefishingcharters.com and choose the type of trip you want to take on my secure website. Let’s go catch your next memory!
