terry bass report

I finally got to go fishing last week. It was still not the warmest day but way better than most of the crazy weather we have been dealing with. My plan was to hit up my favorite lake, Garcia, and hope for a bite or two. The day started with 60 degree water temperatures and by day’s end made it to 63. We managed to catch a total of 11 small bass which was way better than my expectation. I started out throwing a suspending jerk bait but the water depths were only about 2’ and I was dragging bottom too often. I made a switch to a floating jerk bait and had better results for getting fish to eat. My friend was using his Tiny Torpedo and caught a couple of fish right away but his bite fizzled out fast for him.

We found only one bed in the area we were fishing so the Spawning activity hasn’t really exploded. Keep track of the New and Full moons the next 3-4 months as the Spawn can go crazy within a few days or so. I am hoping for some Spring-like weather to show up.
