sebastian snook

Captain Glyn Austin with an overslept snook the week before the season opens.

The beach bite slowed a bit last week with the swell we had but we still got into a few nice tarpon and some sharks. Inshore has been good with snook, trout, jacks along with some blacktip and bull sharks. Snook and trout on the islands and shorelines with live bait and artificial. DOA paddle tails worked well mid morning and the topwater Skitter Walk bite is heating up as well.

Doug with an upper slot snook the week before the season opens

As we move into the next few weeks the mullet should be showing up more and more and the inshore bite will get pretty good. Anglers looking to get their first slot snook should have no problem staying away from the jetty crowd and fish in the lagoon to get a slot snook to take home for dinner.
