I’ve been feeling a little sluggish lately with the heat we have been experiencing and my fishing has taken a small break. I did manage to make it out to 3 Forks with my friend whom I was out with a week earlier and we spun his prop. It wasn’t like we hit something in the water but his boat is 27 years old and that same old prop pushed through all those years but finally said NO MORE!

The only bite I had and the only fish to be caught was my big fat beautiful Bluegill that ate a Beetle Spin lure. My last outing on Headwaters was pretty much the same as days prior for catching and techniques. By 9:30 the bite pretty much quits. I have a picture of the lures that have been working for me there lately. Next week they will be closing the ramp and parking lot for Headwaters to resurface and seal. They also propose the whole Fellsmere grade will be closed sometimes in November to work on a paving/sealing of the dusty road.

Things are looking good for the end of the year and I’m sure this will only bring more crowds to my special little ponds too. The August heat has been brutal, as we come into September the threats of hurricanes typically increase much more. This morning school has started up again and our seasonal change is right around the corner. I’m ready for a little cool down.
