These boys came from North Carolina with their dad and caught a pile of snook, jacks trout and mackerel in the Lagoon before Nicole got here!
Hurricane Nicole put a little damper on the fishing this week. Pre-hurricane, the bite was pretty good inshore but the inlet bite was a bit slower. Plenty of snook, jacks and some pompano inshore along with some schools of mackerel and bluefish. Live bait has been best for the snook but artificial baits have worked well for most other species. Post-hurricane, the bite has been alright inshore also, but the inlet bite has continued to be slow for us. We’ve been mostly getting into snook, trout and jacks around the islands and pompano and mackerel on the flats.
Beach fishing should be good as we get some west winds and blacktip sharks and bait migrates south.
