Where do I start? Let’s start with the bait. The last few days they have been somewhat easy to find. The bunker have been tucked up shallow in the north tip of the bight. But not every day. Definitely don’t leave the dock without a box of minnows or sardines. A lot of guys are actually using ballyhoo now to troll for kings. They are a little tougher and last longer on the hook. Kings eat them just fine. As does every other species out there. try it out. A bag of small ballyhoo may last longer than a 30$ box of minnows.

The local reefs, 8a and pelican, have been holding fish just fine. or straight out to the lumps. If one spot doesn’t work just go to the next. That’s all we do. Nothing special. SLOW troll those baits and see what happens.

Bottom fishing hasn’t been all that great due to the start of the thermocline. The Cold water is here and shutting the bottom species down a little. Not only is the thermocline here but also a nice tropical storm bringing plenty of wind. So, it looks like we will have a week or so landlocked.

Good luck and have some fun. Be safe and God Bless.
