As you know, this week has been a solid blow. The waters along the beaches are going to be trashed for a few days and the lagoons aren’t going to be much better. At this time of the year I find myself looking for the redfish that are hiding from the elements just as I am.

The good thing about redfish is that they are not hard to figure out. They like areas that have relatively clean water and lots of bait. If you can find this type of scenario you can often find reds hanging out there. Northeast winds at 20 to 25-knots only leave a few places that you can find for these fish to hide in. Typically these are southerly and westerly facing shorelines. Once the winds subside and you can get out to check these types of areas you should do really well.

High water will also allow redfish to push up under many of the mangrove trees that they may not normally be able to access. So don’t be afraid to fish your lures or baits really tight to these banks. You will definitely be rewarded if you do.

I have a few days available in November and captain Russ is looking to fill his bookings up too, so check out my website (finelinefishingcharters.com) and get your trip with one of us locked in today. Let’s go catch your next memory!!
