The redfish continue to please us along the near coastal waters along the Space Coast this week. These fish are grouping up in their pre-spawn aggregation and sometimes we are finding 400 to 500-fish in each school. When they get into this size group they act more like jacks than redfish-attacking everything in their path.

Tarpon, jacks, and even a cobia or two can be found roaming with the redfish when these groups start to feed heavily. For years, guides like captain Troy Perez, captain Blair Wiggins and I have referred to this group as “School X.” Finding them is like finding a needle in a haystack on some days, but on other days Stevie Wonder could see them as they blast through schools of baitfish. Showering them all over the ocean’s surface. This only lasts for about two weeks so if you are interested in attempting to find School X, please give me a call or visit my website finelineFishingCharters.com and book one of my available dates.
