Scott and his kids came from Iowa for some winter fishing and got into some redfish, sheephead, tripletail and jacks
The bite’s been tough in the lagoon after the cold front, but the inlet has been decent.
With snook season starting this week, the inlet will be the place to be for most — and it will be packed! There’s still some black drum as well as snook and a few redfish. If you like to sight fish, the water is low and clear, so hit the flats and the mangrove shorelines with live shrimp or some DOA shrimp, Paddletails and jerk baits, and you should be able to bring home that slot fish.
Beach fishing will be good this week with calm seas and west winds. There should be some tarpon around the bait schools that the mackerel and sharks are feeding on. If the tarpon aren’t present, there should be plenty of action with Mackerel, Sharks, Bluefish and jacks.
