We put a bunch of quality fish in the boat on artificial baits this week (and a few on shiners). The chatterbait bite is picking back up in the north lake. The Hogfarmer Spunk Shad is the best chatterbait trailer I can find. It has incredible action and is pretty durable. The bite is better a little later in the morning with this full moon. Most of the bigger fish this week came after 10:30am.
The Bass Assassin Tapout worm in black and blue caught some good fish on a Carolina rig in the pits and square pond using a 4/0 hook, and a half ounce weight with a 2ft leader. There is bait balls everywhere so keep a topwater bait handy so you can sling it into the school when they start blowing up. The Mike Bucca Bullshad (6in and 9in) and Bullwake both in Bone color caught some hammers this week. You can still catch a bunch of fish on watermelon red Bass Assassin RSB worms are working just about everywhere we threw them.
Don’t forget Stick Marsh. Jerkbaits, RatLtraps, Ole Monster Mag worms and square bill crankbaits are working very well. I love throwing a lizard over there as well (black/red or watermelon red). Good luck to everyone this week and weekend I hope you catch a monster!
