permit

Rollie with a nice Permit on soft plastics on the Flats in Sebastian!

Another good week of inshore and nearshore fishing this last week. Plenty of bait around and the snook, reds and trough were plentiful. Live bait and DOA paddle tails were the ticket this week. We even found a school of permit on the flats a few days which is something you don’t see every day in Sebastian and we managed to catch a few on DOA soft plastics.

The inlet was good this week with plenty of redfish snook and jacks. Live shrimp was the hot bait on the jetty and pigfish was the hot bait for boaters. Nearshore we found and jumped a few tarpon and found a few schools of Bonito which have been absent nearshore most of the summer for us out of Sebastian. The cold front this week could change a few things up, but we will have to see how if affects the water temps and moves the bait around. If nothing else, the flounder bite should improve as well as pompano, spanish macs and bluefish.
