Only got one day out on the water at Headwaters this past week. It was pretty slow, water temperatures still in the mid to high 80s this week. Looks like it’s going to be a complete blow out with a hurricane coming from the Gulf so winds will be an issue. If it shifts, it might be different for us.
I’m looking forward to fall, my crêpe myrtles are telling me that it’s near and they’re starting to drop their leaves. I’m hoping that the winds we will be having will put some oxygen into our waterways and maybe break up some of the algae blooms we have going on in our Lagoon.
The annual Mullet Run buzz is soon to happen in our area waterways. As the temperatures to our northern states begin to drop the push of bait to our southerly waters will make for some exciting rod bending. The bass will also start to move to shallower areas and bedding activities will begin for us. I’m ready for this weather change, for sure.
