It’s starting to look like winter is in the past and Spring has arrived here in Central Florida. The weather has definitely been quite nice with temperatures in the 70’s I could ask for just a tad less wind but we can’t get spoiled. The waters in and around New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon have been streaming with life. We have been catching trout, redfish, snook and black drum to mention a few. The bait can still be found throughout the waters and the fish have worked their way out of the depths back onto the flats . Plugs, soft plastics and spoons have been working well for artificial’s as shrimp, mud minnows and live mullet have been the key for live bait. The weather looks nice for the upcoming week which should definitely have the fish fired up.
