This week started off with completely unexpected conditions on the ocean outside of Port Canaveral. The seas went from 1 foot at 8 seconds to a northeast 3–4-foot swell at 8 seconds plus another 2–3-foot swell coming from the southeast at about 6-7 seconds, and to top it all off a 15-knot south wind chop across the ocean’s surface. Needless to say, it sucked out there and the convoluted sea state has the water along our beaches turning into mud. We did get cobia and snook but did not get any tarpon or redfish to cooperate for us on Monday’s charter. Hopefully the weather conditions will improve during the rest of the week so I can get back to jumping tarpon high in the Space Coast sky.
