This past week was awesome, and things should only get better as the mullet schools keep pushing through. Right now, finding the bait is the number one key — if you’re around the mullet, you’re in the game.
Water clarity has been on the poor side, but that can actually work in your favor. Dirty water makes fish less wary, so don’t be afraid to throw something that puts off vibration or scent to help them hone in. Cut bait has been producing steady action, and topwater lures have been very productive around dawn and dusk.
Snook, redfish, trout, tarpon, and jacks have all been chewing, and with more bait moving in each day, the action should only continue to improve.
