This past Memorial Day Weekend was definitely challenging with the massive influx of people on the water but it did not stop the fish from eating. We did get a little extra water pushed into the New Smyrna Beach backwaters with a strong NE wind for a few days. The winds have shifted back to the West Southwest and water levels are starting to get back to normal. The bait continues to be plentiful throughout Mosquito Lagoon and the fish can still be found in and around the bait. Plugs have been working well early in the morning then moving to spoons, plastics and live bait as the sun gets higher. It looks like we have some afternoon storms moving into the area later in the week but hopefully will not be causing any issues for a morning session.
