Wednesday morning tournament out of Overstreet ramp, headed across to Storm Island and started fishing around the submerged trees but the wind was too much, so we went up along the grass and reeds. Wind was blowing into the grass and reeds towards shore, we moved inside the grass line and fished a cut that the wind was blowing into. I caught one on a Yum Dinger in cranberry along the edge of the grass about a pound. While trying to weigh it and get it in the live well, my partner said he needs the net, if it’s a bass. It was and he did need the net as it was a 5lb 15oz beauty, pictured, on a buzz bait. Water temp was 62 and I was surprised that it hit it. We stayed in that area and caught a limit before moving along. We stayed inside the grass line and got a few more making a couple of culls. Water temp got up to 64 by the time we finished at 11.
