Inshore, the bite for trout snook and redfish is still a bit slow as the water temps and clarity and wind aren’t helping us much at all. Pompano bite inshore has also slowed but there are a few bluefish and jacks around along with snapper on the rockpiles. Mackerel are starting to show up in good numbers along the beaches when we can get out. With the light winds and calm seas if you can find areas with plenty of bait you will find the mackerel with some bluefish and jacks mixed in and if you’re shallow around the reefs there should be a few pompano mixed in.
Lets hope this rain quits for a while and the wind lays down and we can get some temperatures so we can get back to some normal spring time fishing in the lagoon.
