The inshore bite picked up a bit this week with plenty of trout, snook and a few redfish early to mid morning. We’ve had a problem with sharks eating hooked fish in the lagoon which is something that we don’t see often is Sebastian. Lost a nice redfish to one last week. The bite still slows down a bit as the temps heat up, but there’s enough action to keep busy if you get an early start.
The bite off the beach is still hit or miss as the bait and fish are very scattered. Tarpon, jacks and sharks are around but the bite has been a little tough with the upwelling lately. Live bait has definitely been best with the colder water.
