This week I spent a lot of time fishing around spoil islands and docks, and both produced solid catches. I’ve been seeing plenty of snook feeding around bait schools, along with good numbers of trout, ladyfish, and jacks mixed in. I also managed to land a few nice flounder and some smaller black drum.

My approach hasn’t changed much since last week. I’m still having success with paddle tails, topwater plugs, and Lil Johns in areas holding bait. As long as the bait schools stay thick, the fish have been close by and actively feeding.
