mosquito lagoon redfish

The summer time weather has been getting a little active this past week with a lot of thunderstorms through the New Smyrna Beach area. It looks as though we are starting to get into an afternoon storm kind of pattern making for a good evening cool down. But with all this extra rain fall it has increased the water levels throughout Mosquito Lagoon but seems to have not affected the the bite. We are still boating several different species from redfish, trout, snook and black drum just to mention a few. The artificial and live bait bite have both been good. Throwing plugs early before the sunrise has been causing strikes on the surface then moving to a subsurface or live bait later in the morning has been working well. The weather looks to be good this upcoming week and the bite should continue to stay steady.
