The bass fishing at Headwaters Lake is still pretty good. Changing over to fall patterns is producing some good bites. We are still starting out the mornings throwing topwater lures: Walk The Dog style, Wake Baits and my personal favorite, a Prop Bait lure. Water temperatures are lowering so you can fish this way much longer than weeks before. To me, if an area I’m in looks fishy, then I’ll throw my topwater. We were also fishing edges of hydrilla that dropped off into 10-15 feet of water using a Rattlin Vibe lipless crank bait and a YO Zuri Suspending Jerk Bait, too.
All in all, it’s been twenty fish or more kind of mornings. The days are getting shorter and the nights are cooler so GREAT fishing opportunities are right around the corner for us!
