It looks as though our winter weather will be here for most of this week with cooler nights and 60’s to 70 during the days. With this little blast of cool air coming into Central Florida look for the fish to become really active throughout the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon. The water clarity has been great making for some good sight fishing of redfish and black drum. The bait can still be found hanging in and around the deeper edges and holes. Those holes and edges are where you will find most of your schooling trout as the larger ones will be gathering warmth in the shallow pot holes. Small soft plastics, spoons and live bait have all been working well to trigger a bite.
