bass fishing

The hurricane cooled the water temperature down quickly at our lakes. The drastic temperature drop had the fish a little lethargic early in the mornings but I’ve noticed that is behind us now.

At Headwaters we are crushing them on a Baby Bass color Drave USA Guerrero in both sizes. The bigger fish are blasting the 115 size. Look for cleanish water in the north lake. These are getting easier to find with this north wind. If you are after numbers and an occasional good fish throw a Bass Assassin Vapor Shad in Houdini weightless or with a 1/16oz bullet weight. My client was fishing these next to the surface and fish were tearing them up. The Lizard bite was catching solid fish in the ditches. We rigged the Mag lizards (Junebug) on a 5/0 worm hook with an eighth ounce.

Stick Marsh is dirty but the fish are chewing. If the water is moving throw a Rat-L-Trap gold or silver. Yo-yo it off the bottom and hang on. They are crushing it! The Mike Bucca 6” Bullshad in Gizzard Shad caught several fish in the 5lb range. If the east pump station is on throw a Bass Assassin RSB worm in Hematoma Shad, Gooseberry or Junebug Red. We have been Carolina Rigging them with a half ounce weight.
