So far this March weather has been a little unstable from frontal lines dipping down to wind and rain but it has not stopped the bite. The fish have been adapting well throughout the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach. Whichever direction the wind is pushing, the bait the fish have not been far behind. Live shrimp, finger mullet and cut bait have all been working well along with soft plastics and plugs early. The redfish, trout, snook and black drum have been staying pretty hungry.
It looks as though we may get another late season front move through but I believe this will probably be our last one for the year. We all know what comes next summer and that Florida heat.
