I am glad to see a light at the end of the tunnel with all the rain we have received this past week. The fish did not seem to be bothered but it did make for close calls with storms. It did however bring an influx of water to the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon area but seems to be residing as fast as it arrived. The bite seems to be steady through the morning and then teetering off as the sun gets higher in the sky. The flats have had a lot of bait scattered with a mixture of fish holding in and around the bait pods. Live bait and artificials have been working well and by the looks of the five day forecast the weather should be holding stable for a while.
