treasure coast marina fishing report

The weather continues to plague us as windy conditions are making it very difficult to get out to fish. Random rain storms that are popping up as radar ghosts frustrate everyone and the water is abnormally high and dirty. Having said all that, the fishing has been good for those willing to brave the conditions.

The bite is strong and the fish are hungry. There’s been good action on large pinfish from snook at the inlet, and plenty of activity near structures on the west side of the lagoon. Reports of slot reds near the islands from the wade fishermen, as well as drum.

Trout are small, and for some reason they are hanging out with catfish. We’re getting many reports of these pesky critters hitting on shrimp.

Generally speaking, it was a good week but… “unsettled” is probably the best word to describe it. What is needed is several days of consistent weather and calm conditions to stabilize things.

DON’T FORGET: this coming weekend is Treasure Coast Marina’s 19th Annual Inshore Tournament. We have our fingers crossed for good weather and great fishing! Come on and fish with us! Lots of free stuff for our anglers and a great time for everyone!
