The weather has been hot this past week and the fishing as well. We have been boating a variety of species like redfish, trout and snook. The bait continues to be holding in the back waters of New Smyrna Beach stretching south through Mosquito Lagoon. Plugs and artificial have been working well early in the morning then moving to live bait as the sun gets higher in the sky. It seems as though we have set in on our summer time pattern with high temperatures in the mid day bringing in afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The weather looks to be about the same into next week hit with afternoon storms so the morning bite will be the best.
