There has been some extremely hot days this past week but that heat has not affected the bite one bit. I will say we have been wrapping up by mid day but that morning bite has been great. The bait continues to be plentiful throughout Mosquito Lagoon and the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach allowing the trout and redfish ample food source. The trout and redfish have not been the only species roaming the waters, jacks, snook and tarpon have all been in the mix these past couple weeks. The forecast for next week looks to be the same which should reassure the bite to continue. Live bait has been working a little better than artificial but fish have been caught on both. Early morning and late evening as the water temps are cooler has been the key.
