snook

Nice Snook for Jim in some cold weather! Caught plenty of trout as well!

The last cold front dropped the water temps to right at 50 degrees in Grant and Sebastian over last weekend and the fishing was extremely difficult earlier in the week. We found several breeder snook that were killed from the cold. Later in the week temps warmed up the the mid 60s and the bite improved dramatically in both the lagoon and the inlet. When the water temps were low the fish were looking for holes to stay warm. Once the temps warmed we caught plenty of Trout along with a few snook and redfish and plenty of jacks. We had some shots at some tarpon but they weren’t hungry.

This week will be warm most of the week and the inlet and lagoon should be pretty good and we are supposed to have some calm seas to be able to get out in the ocean and have some decent action.
