Here is a quick fishing report to help you guys out this weekend… We are still catching some big fish on Mike Bucca Bullshads and Glide baits. If you can get your hands on a BullGlide, snatch it up. These baits are so easy to work and the fish are crushing them. I’ve had success on the bone 8in and 9in but the Shad color works great, too. I had a client this week catch an 11lb stud on a glide.
The fish we are catching are right against the hydrilla that is next to deep water. We will fish these baits parallel to the hydrilla. The morning topwater bite is great right now if you fish in the flats with a Poppin Shadz, any frog, or a white buzzbait. The worm bite is really good in 8 to 14 feet and the Bass Assassin RSB worms in Gooseberry and Candybug have been working for me. Fish these with a 3/8oz weight and a 6/0 ewg hook along the bottom as slow as you can stand it. The bigger fish want the bait moving slow and when we fished them a little faster our quality went down.
Good luck this week!
