Upwelling seems to have moved away and the bait situation is getting better. There is plenty of bait along the beaches but it is scattered and so are the fish. Snook are in the trough where you can find the glass minnows. Snook, sharks and tarpon are also away from the beach, as well, on glass minnows, pilchards and pogies.
Fishing from the beach can be just as good or better than fishing from a boat. If you find the glass minnows in the surf, you can follow them up the beach. We have been getting some tarpon and a lot of sharks and some jacks mixed in pretty steady. Live greenies work well, but we have also been getting a lot of action on artificial baits. Look for the trend to continue and as the rains keep coming and the baits keep moving in, the fishing will heat up as well.
