Big snook are just one of the species that we are catching at Fineline Fishing Charters right now. This one was the largest of the week at 37 inches and 24 inches in girth. That’s a chunky fish my friends!

The snook are preferring live baits like pinfish, shrimp, and croakers on most days. Cobia are another species that are possible right now. Most of these fish are following bait pods or manta rays in the 45 to 65 foot depths, however cobia can be found on many of the 70 to 90-foot reefs as well. Live bait fish like greenies or pogies are your best choice for these fish. Tripletail are holding on sargasso weeds in the 35 to 50-foot depths. You can find them around patches of grass that have wood or other hard debris mixed in with it. Live shrimp or small baitfish pattern flies are great to cast at these tasty fish.

Inshore, the Mosquito Lagoon is producing speckled trout to about 20 inches and small bull sharks along the false channel and outside edge of Tiger Shoal. Saltwater Assassin 4-inches sea shad are a good option if the pinfish are picking your shrimp apart. We will have various species that we can target over the next month but these are a few of the ones I’ve been doing best on. If you’d like to get out and chase something with me please visit my website at and you can see my available dates on my reservations page. Let’s go catch your next memory!
