Salty Sarge here with a surf report for Melbourne’s south beaches. This week the surf has finally calmed down bringing a lot surf fishing action to the beach. The water was clear and clean and the ocean was teaming with life. Bait fish were in abundance as well.

Salty Sarge here again with some serious action coming out of Mathers Bridge this weekend!

Salty Sarge here with another report from Mathers Bridge. Due to the weather on the beach with super high winds and waves, me and my buddy, Jawstriker84, went to kill some time on the bridge and do some relaxing fishing.

Salty Sgt here with a little surf report coming from satellite beach on A1A and Desoto beach access. With the wind pushing north and waves with some chop and uneven wave sets it was still a great day at the surf.

We hit Mathers Bridge at 7pm and catfish were running like crazy

It was a pretty great outing at Mathers Bridge. Armed with 1/2oz. bell weights, a nice fluorescent red bead, a 45lb. swivel and about 18” of 30lb. leader with a 1/0 needle point hook, and a bucket-o-shrimp, I got to work quickly.

Caught a couple of lively horse shoe crabs in the Banana River Lagoon just north of Mathers Bridge.
