Got setup and it started off slow, then got a keeper Pompano on a fishbite tipped with a dead shrimp. Then things got interesting. Hit the beach up this afternoon, one small pomp, black drum and a permit all on fishbite with a dead shrimp on the end. Weeds were manageable, not a lot of bait fish activities.

Caught two short Pompano Friday morning with clam fish bites on the incoming tide. Hopefully things will pick up soon, didn’t see any sand fleas.

So caught a nice sheepshead the other day, one small pompano and this guy was only about 14”. Didn’t know that was a possibility at the beach.

Hit up Melbourne Beach the last couple mornings. The wind has been making for tough fishing. Today was better than yesterday, though. Fished the outgoing tide this morning. Although I didn’t hook up with any Pompano I did manage a couple small whiting, three permits and a Red. Had to quit around 1pm when the weeds started to roll in. Hopefully the Pompano will show up soon.

Went to Eau Gallie River Wednesday morning, tried the docks in ICW first and caught some small snapper. With the wind out of the west we headed deep into the river and drifted out.

Put the kayaks in on the east side of the river by Crab Point on Sunday. Fished the docks and the canals with shrimp and paddle tails. Couple small trout and a sheepshead (plus a few hard heads). The water was kinda clear.
