    Here come the Sheeps

    February 4, 2019

It’s that time of year, we are seeing lots and lots of sheepshead and drum being caught. The most consistent catches seem to be on dead shrimp using a light leader and small hooks. Also, the snook bite has been good at the jetty. Shrimp and pinfish have been the bait of choice. The water is clearing up in the river so you should expect the trout bite to pick up as well.

      Unbelievable Fishing

      December 30, 2018

Fishing has been unbelievable. Loads of big flounder (over 4 lbs) are being caught in the Inlet and nearby sand bars, and at night, anglers are doing well with big over-sized snook and redfish. The docks in the lagoon are also holding plenty of black drum and sheepshead.

        Still Lots of Flounder

        December 23, 2018

We’re still getting plenty of flounder in around Sebastian Inlet, averaging about 4 lb in size. Mud minnows, shrimp, and finger mullet are all working pretty well. There’s also lots of snook and sheepshead being caught. Offshore, we’re hearing reports of kingfish and blackfin tuna being caught.

          Flounder Bite Heating Up

          December 3, 2018

The flounder bite has heated up at Sebastian Inlet. The bite seems to be most productive using mud minnows and mullet — if you can still find them. The snook bite is also hot at the inlet and we are seeing some monster reds come through as well. Another awesome thing about this time of year is the black drum and sheepshead activity picks back up and we are getting reports of both so get out there and fish!

            Inlet Bite Producing

            November 19, 2018

The inlet is producing well right now. My most recent trip produced flounder, Spanish mackerel, snook and redfish. We also caught some monster catfish, too, and I am talking over 10 pounds! If you’re fishing around the docks, look for snook and slot sized reds, and you may just find them. We did best using live shrimp and pinfish.

              Fire Bite, Monster Reds…

              November 12, 2018

The fishing continues to be on fire with snook and monster redfish from the Jetty. The bite seems to be the best early morning and at sundown. Live shrimp have been the bait of choice. If you can get the larger shrimp it certainly stacks the deck in your favor. The trout seem to be pretty much everywhere and we are seeing big schools of jacks in the river as well. I am still getting reports of flounder too so get out and take a kid fishing and post some pictures!

                Big Reds in the River

                October 15, 2018

In the river we are seeing big redfish along with a lot of ladyfish and jacks. For the big reds, it’s hard for them to pass up a live shrimp or piece of cut bait. The best action seems to be in the early mornings and evenings. There are quite a few tarpon in the river right now as well.

                  Reds from Malabar to Grant

                  October 1, 2018

We are seeing quite a few redfish right now along the river banks from Malabar to Grant. It’s hard for them to resist a well place shrimp or piece of cut bait. Also, the snook bite at the inlet has picked up as well. Live bait such as pinfish, croakers or a large live shrimp will have you hooked up in no time!
