The weekend was great. A lot of folks made it out fishing. We received some good reports of big sheepshead in the Banana River lagoon. Fiddler crabs were the bait of choice for these hard fighting convicts! There were also some big whiting and a couple really good pompano caught north of the base, as well. These fish were caught on live clams and shrimp.

With the wind being higher this past week many anglers have targeted the lagoons. The bridges and docks from Pineda to Eau Gallie have been holding good numbers of mangrove snapper and larger sheepshead. The best approach has been to dial down your gear for a stealthy approach. Live shrimp on a small hook using a light leader has generated the most bites. This doesn’t mean you are going to land the most fish but it should increase the number of fish hooked. You will have to rely on your angling skills to get them to you. Best of luck and tight lines!

In Satellite and Indian Harbour Beach, small reds are consistently biting in the canals and in the Banana River along with some small snook. Meanwhile on the beach, the surf anglers are catching whiting and still a few nice pompano. Offshore anglers are catching small dolphin and for the bottom bite, mangroves have been chewing well!

In the river and the canals around Satellite Beach anglers are catching nice trout, lots of mangrove snapper, and the occasional redfish and tarpon. On the beach (when weather permits), the tarpon and snook are abundant and some pompano are being caught, as well.

In the river around Satellite Beach, sea trout, reds and mangrove snapper are biting on live shrimp. Meanwhile, beach anglers are catching tarpon, whiting and still getting a few of those elusive keeper-sized pompano.

The canals and the river around Satellite Beach are producing nice catches of trout, snook, redfish and mangrove snapper. Meanwhile on the beach, the surf anglers are catching whiting, black drum, bluefish and still a few spinner sharks.

In the canals around Satellite Beach, anglers are catching small snook, small tarpon, sheepshead, mangrove snapper and a few redfish. In the river around the bridges they are catching Spanish mackerel, and an occasional pompano along with mangrove snapper and sheepshead. For the beach fisherman, big whiting, sheepshead and some pompano are being caught. For the offshore bite, dolphin are showing up. The bottom fishermen are catching nice mangroves and a few triggerfish. Also, the shrimp are running good in the river!

In the lagoon, anglers are still catching a lot of sheephead, mangrove snapper and trout around the bridges. A lot of snook have been caught in the canals around Satellite Beach, as well. Off the beach, anglers are catching sheepshead, whiting along with a lot of bonnethead sharks. There has been an uptick in pompano this week, as well, with some larger fish landed, too.

In the canals around Satellite Beach anglers are catching trout, redfish and small snook. In the river around the bridges they’re catching lots of mangrove snapper, and sheepshead. In the flats around Pineda anglers are sight-fishing red drum and doing fair in the flats. In the surf when weather permits, pompano are still being caught along with nice whiting, sheepshead, bluefish and Spanish mackerel.

The river and the canals around Satellite Beach are producing lots of sheephead and mangrove snapper. If you can’t get fiddler crabs, sand fleas are doing just as good for the sheepshead. A few redfish are being spotted in the shallow flats in the Banana River and black drum are being caught in decent numbers around the causeways.

Out at Port Canaveral it looks like Ray proved that the triple tail finally came out of hiding!
