Tampa Bay area fishing guide. I've lived most of my life in SW FL and love the versatility of fishing Tampa Bay. The flats fishing is excellent for snook, redfish, tripletail and trout while the deeper waters within the bay are home to healthy mangrove snapper and grouper.

The gag grouper are biting with cooling water temperature. The bite is kicking off from the channel ledges to the shallow rocks including the public reefs. They can be caught with live baits, shrimp or trolling deep diving artificial baits or pulling planes with big bucktail jigs with 8″ mister twister grubs.
The redfish schools are now in session. Schools of reds are traveling the shallow flats and bars. Pitching live shrimp or cut threadfins or pinfish is a great choice while fishing for them.
The offshore bite West of Tampa Bay has been great. The red grouper have been very active on live pinfish with the best chance for the larger fish in at least 75′ of water. Mangrove, lane and Vermillion snapper have also been found in large numbers on hard bottom coming off shrimp or cut threadfins.
The bite has been great offshore in the 65′ range with live shrimp and big live baits. 2 people filled a 123qt cooler.
The mangrove snapper bite has been hot on the bay with beefy mangroves up to 21″ on most trips. Come get on some of the action with me or Capt Gavin. 865-363-1388 /813-418-0225.
The mangrove snapper are on fire with fish up to 22″ in the bay. Live shrimp on light jigs from 3-35′.
The bite on Tampa bay has improved after the red tide moved out. Limits of mangrove snapper can be caught from mangrove shorelines to channel ledges on live shrimp.
The red tide in Tampa Bay is beginning to diminish with lower levels below 1,000 ppm in several samples. The full moon mangrove snapper bite has been outstanding. Fishing rock piles or channel ledges with […]
The fishing has still been good despite the Red Tide. The snook and redfish are active in the shallow mangroves, while trout and in the shallow open water on live greenbacks or shrimp. The mangrove […]
Got this African pompano on 10# line fishing in 105'.
The offshore bite has been incredible at the 10-20 mile range. The red and scamp grouper will eat any cut bait, shrimp or live pinfish you drop. There are large schools of lane snapper on […]
Hooked this one in 130ft, he was hit by a Goliath grouper twice on the way up.
Brandon battled this guy for 25 minutes but got the win.
The gag grouper bite has been very good inside the bay. This group reeled in 30 fish from 1 rock pile near the shipping channel on live greenbacks.
The bigger mangrove snapper are getting more aggressive inside Tampa Bay, fish in the 12-16" range are beginning to be the common size. I prefer a 3/8 to 3/4 "stewie jig" from TBFC they are […]
This 35" Gag grouper tipped the scale at 29#. I caught him on a large piece of fresh cut ladyfish inside Tampa Bay.
Snapper bite continues to be good inside Tampa Bay. Non stop action on these tasty fishes. From the table to the grill. Yum Yum
