Better Bite in Mosquito Lagoon
How can I NOT start this report out with red snapper? I got an 18.5 lb red snapper on Friday and we limited out on Sunday. Ended up with 4 bigguns!

Our bait shop is located on the way to famous Haulover Canal and the National Seashore (Playalinda Beach). We carry live and frozen bait, tackle and rods!!

Big reds are showing up in the lagoon, use cut bait such as mullet or cut ladyfish to get these big girls excited…
Playalinda Beach has good numbers of whiting being caught, the best baits seem to be frozen shrimp and clams. I like to mix it up and use Fishbites, too.
The black drum bite is still the talk of the town. The best places to target are any structure and the bridges. Use shrimp or cut crabs for the best results.
At Playalinda Beach this week we have lots of whiting being caught using shrimp and fish bites. Also lots of sharks, so if you are looking for a great game of tug of war, use cut bonito for best results.
The Indian River lagoon here in Titusville is still red hot for black drum, use live blue crabs and shrimp. The trout bite has reminded hot in Titusville too, use live pigfish around the island from Max Brewer Bridge to the Railway Bridge.
This week the black drum is the hot bite in Titusville! Work the bridges from Railroad Bridge down to the 520. Look at your bottom machine and you will see the fish. The best baits have been blue crabs are shrimp.
At Playalinda Beach we are seeing lots of sharks, whiting and Spanish mackerel being caught. Shrimp and clams work well for the whiting. Both cut bait and live bait wok well for targeting the toothy critters. The Spanish mackerel have been good size fish so small live baits or plugs will get the job done.
In the Mosquito Lagoon there are decent size trout & reds being caught on cut bait and shrimp. Haulover Canal has slowed down a little bit but there are still some big black drum and reds being caught.
Haulover Canal is producing some really nice over slot redfish and black drum. The best baits have been live shrimp and blue crabs. We have seen big redfish in the north Indian River Lagoon, as well.
