The bigger mangrove snapper are getting more aggressive inside Tampa Bay, fish in the 12-16" range are beginning to be the common size. I prefer a 3/8 to 3/4 "stewie jig" from TBFC they are made in Ruskin with access by boat on the little manatee river. Contact me to book a trip.

Tampa Bay area fishing guide. I've lived most of my life in SW FL and love the versatility of fishing Tampa Bay. The flats fishing is excellent for snook, redfish, tripletail and trout while the deeper waters within the bay are home to healthy mangrove snapper and grouper.

That’s a good one! I’ve never used a stewie jig, looks like they work well. I will have to get may hands on some.
